Description of the Project 

FIFA are conducting a global exercise to collect information on Talent Promotion. This exercise will include 100+ Member Associations (MAs) and be sourced through a combination of interviews / surveys during 2020. A team of experienced Analysts will conduct the Interviews, coordinate the survey process and compile reports for ongoing analysis.

The Role

FIFA are now seeking to appoint a team of Chief Analysts, on a freelance basis, for a nine-month period between January 2020 to September 2020. The time commitment over that period will be around 50 travel days and approximately the same days for preparation and follow-up, which can be designed flexibly. The Chief Analyst will lead a small team and conduct interviews with up to 10 Member Associations over the nine-month period.

This will involve significant planning and coordination with stakeholders and the organisation of a number of in-country visits.

The appointment will be made on a freelance basis with a daily consultancy fee being made available, as well as all directly related expenses being met.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the introductory meetings, conduct the in-person interviews, record feedback and collate reports
  • Collate information around the Talent Promotion environment in each Member Association through a range of data sources, including the in-person meetings and data produced by survey
  • Work in a collaborative fashion with the entire Analyst Team and other colleagues across FIFA to ensure the highest levels of professionalism and engagement with Member Associations

Experience

  • Extensive experience of Talent Promotion or Technical Development in sport. Experience in a football environment would be an advantage.
  • Experience of being a Technical Leader of a Talent Promotion programme or a Coach with direct involvement in Talent Promotion
  • Experience of working with senior Leaders in sport including Association Presidents, General Secretaries and Technical staff
  • Leadership experience, including managing and supporting staff
  • Proven track record of evaluating programmes, report writing, technical analysis and making recommendations

Skills

  • Ability to conduct high-level interviews with senior sports leaders
  • Excellent organisation and analytical skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritise
  • Fluency in English and one of the following languages is required:
    • French
    • Spanish
    • Russian
    • Arabic
