Founded in 1982, MYLAPS Sports Timing was originated with the merge of two Dutch companies- AMB i.t. and ChampionChip. The brand has revolutionized the world of sports timing with ground-breaking innovations and set the standard ever since. MYLAPS invented automatic sports timing and timing system for mass running events; thousands of events and millions of athletes that previously used stopwatches and thumbs to keep track of results now rely on MYLAPS technology.

MYLAPS offers a wide range of timing systems and services. All the solutions have been developed to suit the needs of professional timers, event organizers, track and club owners and federations, as well as individual racers and athletes. MYLAPS’ products enhance the experience for all sports categories, from professional to amateur level, from small to high/density events.

MYLAPS systems support registration, identify individual racers and athletes, determine their start, finish and intermediate times, collect performance data, calculate rankings and publish the results. Besides that, MYLAPS offer value-added participant and event services to boost the sports experience.

In November 2018, MYLAPS EventApp used at the Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon 2018 has been voted ‘Best Sports Digital Platform of the Year’.

Primary Responsibilities

Proactively and aggressively develop and maintain relationship with customers and prospects through personal contact, meetings, conference attendance, be it face to face, by telephone, email, social media, or working through our referral partner network and various expanding on-line channels.

Efficiently gather market and customer information to qualify each prospect buying intention and ability, to support negotiation on price, delivery and customer management.

Provide accurate feedback on future buying intentions of customers and prospects.  Manage a pipeline of customers and prospects through buying stages from initial meeting, through presentation and closing the sale.

Present MYLAPS products and services to customers and prospects as part of a sales process.  Issue quotes and detailed proposals to customers and prospects and work with each organisation to progress the buying decision.

Work with MYLAPS’ management to set proper targets for sales opportunities and revenue within the market.  Be self-critical and manage own performance and processes to meet or exceeding these targets.

Support the information needs of MYLAPS management including keeping pipelines, prospects and sales records always accurate and up to date.

Execute marketing programs and marketing communication in the target markets.  Personally represent the MYLAPS brand in public forums, conferences, trade shows and events

Basic Requirements

Preferably BSc in Engineering or Sports Business (or related discipline)

Demonstrated ability to generate and qualify new leads with long sales cycles.

Wealth international experience, either by living abroad or by having worked at an international company in China.

Minimum 5 years working experience in sports in China with existing networks. Strong sales background within the sports sector industry

Willing to travel at least 50% of the time across China and to Netherlands.

Strong communication and presentation skills, verbal and written in both English and Mandarin.

Characteristics

Strong Entrepreneurship. Proven experience in managing a start-up business across Asia.

Proven self-motivated, a self-starter.

Maturity and tact to interact well with external and internal parties (programming team, regional and global teams).

Remuneration

An attractive salary package (base and bonus) commensurate with experience will be offered for the right candidate
