Managing Director, County Cricket – England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB)

Who we are

The England and Wales Cricket Board is the national governing body for all cricket in England and Wales, growing and nurturing the core domestic game – including all County cricket across all formats. The County structure is the factory and production line for all England cricketers – it’s where their careers begin and end.

Inspiring Generations is the ECB strategy for 2020-24 which sets out ambitious growth plans for cricket in England. At its core is the aim to make the game more accessible at all levels and have more communities and individuals saying “cricket is a game for me”.

It is a strategy for the whole game that balances celebrating and protecting cricket’s core with growing new audiences. Building on a hugely successful 2019 for the game, we want to inspire more people to play, follow, watch, attend and volunteer across the game, and to make cricket a sport that is representative of the communities that it serves. On the field, we will continue to deliver inspirational champions and will connect the game’s heroes to new generations of players and fans. Off the field, we will bring cricket’s purpose to life, not just with the aim of growing the game, but with the aim of connecting communities and making a positive difference in our modern and diverse society.

Together we will broaden the reach and relevance of cricket through our County network, by delivering against this strategy and the clear priorities it sets out to inspire more people to discover and share their passion for the game. Now is a hugely exciting time to be involved in cricket.
