Market Research & Sponsorship Analyst – Melbourne

As the Market Research & Sponsorship Analyst you will report to the National Sales Director IRONMAN Oceania.  You will be working within the IRONMAN Oceania Commercial Department and also be working alongside the Marketing, Operations and Athlete Services Teams and will be supported by an empowering management team.

Scope of Role

IRONMAN Oceania develops, owns and manages mass participation endurance sporting events throughout the Oceania Region.

Working within the IRONMAN Oceania Team, the Market Research & Sponsorship Analyst will be responsible for assisting with regular ongoing Partnership reporting requirements, as well as supporting the Australian and New Zealand Sales team by creating proposal documents and performing business intelligence work and sponsorship research. Expert proficiency is expected in CRM Management to support the team by producing reports & dashboard creation.

A key part of the role will be supporting the Commercial team with broad range of activities including creating, updating and refreshing sponsor’s presentations and reports for external use.

In addition, the Market Research & Sponsorship Analyst will be responsible for attending events at times to support the events and sales teams.

The Market Research & Sponsorship Analyst will:

  • Maintain the integrity of reporting systems and processes
    Prepare weekly detailed Partnership reports, and contribute
  • Sales information to local and global finance reports, in an accurate and timely manner
  • Provide and maintain reports that meet the requirements of the department and other internal customers – including the provision of key insights
  • Perform Business Intelligence work- researching prospects and providing reports on category trends, sales leads, business contacts, and other relevant information as required
  • Maintain effective internal relationships with all staff including the ability to coach them on new reporting initiatives
  • Manage and the be the key liaison locally and globally for the IRONMAN Global CRM system KORE
  • Liaison with multiple verticals to provide quality output in context of CRM data
  • Prepare effective and creative sales proposal documents in advance of Proposal meetings, for the Senior Director, Global Partnerships and the broader sales team, to attract new partners or when required
  • Proactively work to identify, attract and assist in securing sponsorship revenue
  • Delivery of accurate and timely commercial and analytical support for commercial partners and Government Stakeholders
  • Process and provide suggestions with the view to creating internal efficiencies
  • Assist the team to enable forward focused business planning and perform other tasks for the Partnerships team as required and requested

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Business Intelligence, Market Research, Sponsorship analyst or related role
  • Understanding & experience of working on an analytical CRM system
  • Experience with data analysis & creating presentation of survey data
  • Confidence in making decisions autonomously to rationalise and justify recommendations
  • Business acumen: strong commercial focus and attention to detail
  • Pro-active and ‘can-do’ attitude
  • High degree of computer literacy (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook and Internet)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Event Management or a related degree would be advantageous
