The Role

The Partnership Development manager will be responsible for driving the acquisition of commercial partners for Liverpool Football Club (LFC), leading the sales approach with companies on behalf of LFC.

This position will require a significant amount of travel throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute direct sales in order to contribute to budget targets
  • Build relationships with senior clients in order to deliver direct sales
  • Travel in order to visit prospects in-market, for approximately 2 weeks in each month
  • Identify new prospective partners and commercial opportunities for LFC
  • Contribute to team sales targets and deliver upon personal sales targets
  • Support the Head of Global Partnerships on LFC’s partnership sales approach by securing meetings with qualified partner prospects
  • Manage the creation of sales presentations by identifying the needs of brands and providing a best-in-class marketing solution
  • Regular tracking and reporting of pipeline progress to the Head of Global Partnerships
  • Execute and ensure delivery of central category plan
  • Support delivery of partner prospects through contractual phases into launch
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships within the sports, advertising, and media industries in-market
  • Act as a representative of LFC by attending conferences, events, and partner sales meetings
  • Collaborate with the Head of Global Partnerships and the Partnership Inventory Manager to identify and develop additional partnership inventory specific to partners
  • Support the Head of Global Partnerships on developing LFC’s strategic approach, liaising with internal departments
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of LFC’s international footprint, liaising closely with the central planning and strategy team
  • Collaborate with stakeholders of all levels both internal and external

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in advertising, media, and / or sponsorship sales. They will need to be an excellent communicator and an impressive presenter with knowledge and experience in negotiating complex deals. The individual will have the ability to create year-long marketing campaigns for prospective brands. They will be dynamic and able to work in a fast paced and demanding environment and posses strong problem solving and analytical skills. It will be essential that they have a methodical approach to work, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality whilst being able to work under pressure to tight project deadlines and adapt to differing demands. Furthermore, the individual will be required to work well unsupervised, demonstrating initiative and the ability to be proactive, to follow instructions and provide support. It is essential that the individual has a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
